Description

Startup India is a flagship initiative launched by the Government of India on 16th January 2016, designed to catalyze a robust startup ecosystem and transform India into a nation of job creators. The program aims to empower entrepreneurs by providing comprehensive support through various strategic interventions, including simplified regulatory processes, tax benefits, and financial assistance

 

The initiative offers multiple benefits for eligible startups, including a three-year tax holiday, easier compliance mechanisms, and access to funding opportunities. Startups can register if they are private limited companies, limited liability partnerships, or partnership firms that have not completed 10 years since incorporation, with an annual turnover not exceeding 10 crore rupees The program specifically focuses on entities working towards innovation, research and development, and improvement of products and services that generate employment in India.

 

Under the Startup India scheme, entrepreneurs receive support through multiple channels, such as the Fund of Funds managed by SIDBI, intellectual property rights assistance, and a dedicated online portal that connects startups with investors, incubators, and other key ecosystem stakeholders. The initiative’s comprehensive approach includes establishing innovation hubs, providing mentorship programs, and creating networking opportunities to nurture entrepreneurial talent across various sectors

Steps To Register

Incorporate Your Business

Begin by incorporating your business as a Private Limited Company, Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), or Partnership Firm.

Register on the Startup India Portal

After incorporation, visit the Startup India website and click on the "Register" button. Fill in your name, email ID, mobile number, and create a password. Verify your account using the OTP sent to your email. Complete additional details about your startup, including its type and stage.

Apply for DPIIT Recognition

Log in to your Startup India profile and navigate to the “Apply for DPIIT Recognition” option. Fill out the Startup Recognition application form with required details such as entity information, PAN number, and proof of concept (like a pitch deck or website link) if applicable. Ensure all information is accurate to avoid any discrepancies.

Submit Required Documents

Upload necessary documents for DPIIT recognition, which may include Incorporation Certificate,Proof of funding (if any),Authorization letter from an authorized representative,Proof of concept (website link, pitch deck, etc.),PAN card

Receive Your Recognition Number

After submitting your application and documents, you will receive a recognition number immediately upon successful submission. The certificate of recognition will be issued after review by the authority, typically within two days.
